An Interactive Senior Brunch
I truly enjoy bringing together change makers to serve the community! I‘ve had the incredible opportunity to coordinate a series of senior brunches alongside some amazing community partners. Witnessing the joy on the faces of our local seniors as they mingle, share stories, and enjoy a delicious meal is truly a heartwarming experience.
A Collaboration for Connection
These events wouldn't be possible without the dedication of several fantastic organizations. Black Women Connexting Communities is a collective of women that give back through media & community service. I’m the proud founder of this initiative. This group of women is the driving force behind this brunch series. SABWIG Enterprise is a leadership team, with over 40 years of combined experience across finance, public affairs, federal government, and business management, dedicated to turning projects into successes. Arch of Knowledge’s mission is to provide intergenerational connections that create relationships, exchange resources and strengthen our communities.
In 2023, Ms. Arlita Taylor, the manager of Trinity Terrace & Cheval Court senior residences, welcomed the idea of our on-site senior brunch series. Catering companies such as E&E Soul Food BBQ, O'Neil's Catering Service & Blended Desserts captivated the seniors' taste buds with an appetizing brunch spread. This sense of collaboration & shared purpose is inspiring, and it solidifies the importance of working together to enrich the lives of our elders.
More Than Just a Meal
While the delicious food, interactive activities, and lively conversations were certainly highlights, the true essence of the brunch lies in creating connections. Seeing seniors connect with youth volunteers & forging new friendships is a testament to the power of shared experiences. It was a beautiful reminder that regardless of age, we all need connection & community.

To all the wonderful seniors who graced us with their presence, thank you for allowing us to serve & celebrate you! Your energy, stories, and experiences are an invaluable part of our community. A heartfelt thank you goes out to my incredible community partners for their unwavering support. Together, we will continue to create meaningful events that foster engagement and well-being for our treasured senior residents.

These brunches are just the beginning! The positive energy and joy they generate motivate me to continue organizing activities that celebrate & educate our seniors.
