Your Guide to Summer's Best Self-Care Moments
Summer is the perfect time to focus on self-care, and there are several special days and weeks that can enhance your journey. Although some of these dates may have already passed, you can still engage in activities related to them! I’ve compiled a list of significant dates from June to August, each with a unique call-to-action to help you make the most of the season. Let’s be intentional about our self-care this summer!
June 2024 Self-care
June 8 - June 14
Aromatherapy Awareness Week
CALL-TO-ACTION: Start using scented candles, a diffuser, oil burner or incense. You can use them while taking a shower, your bedroom, sitting outside on your porch or in your backyard.
June 23rd
National Let It Go Day
CALL-TO-ACTION: Write a list of 3-5 things that you want to let go of.
June 24th - June 30th
World WellBeing Week
CALL-TO-ACTION: Think about what areas of your wellbeing you need to work on (physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual). Write down 2-3 ways you can work on improving these areas.
Jun 26th
National Writing Day
CALL-TO-ACTION: Start a selfcare or goal journal so you can track your weekly progress.
July 2024 Self-care
July 1st - July 31th
National Picnic Month 2024
CALL-TO-ACTION: Take your family, partner or loved one on a at a local park
July 18th
World Listening Day
CALL-TO-ACTION: After someone has spoken, repeat or summarize their words to confirm you heard and understood them correctly. Something else you can do is listen to your surroundings & identify the sounds you hear. How many sounds are there?
July 24th
International Self Care Day
CALL-TO-ACTION: Write a list of 3-5 selfcare activities that you can incorporate over the next 3 months. REMEMBER…There are 5 main areas of self-care: physical, mental, emotional, social & spiritual.
July 30th
International Day of Friendship
CALL-TO-ACTION: Invite some friends over for a get together or plan a potluck dinner.
August 2024 Self-care
August 1st -31th
National Wellness Month & Family Fun Month
CALL-TO-ACTION #1: Take a pledge this month to drink more water, walk more, start weekly yoga or pilates, go to sleep earlier
CALL-TO-ACTION #2: Plan a family vacation or try new activities together such as cooking new recipes, learning a new dance together, scheduling weekly game nights
August 2nd
National Coloring Book Day
CALL-TO-ACTION: Buy a adult coloring book & supplies, host a coloring party with close friends, have a coloring hour with your children or grandchildren.
August 15th
National Relaxation Day
CALL-TO-ACTION: Create a weekend relaxation schedule for the next 3 months or plan a relaxation activity for yourself & a lived one.
August 21st
Senior Citizen’s Day
CALL-TO-ACTION: Spend time with a parent, grandparent or senior that you know. Volunteer your time at a local senior/retirement home. Are you a senior? If so, check for special discounts at local stores & restaurants.
